Arnie's "girlie-man" economics remark certainly set a new benchmark in political discourse. Has incurring trillions of dollars in debt suddenly become a macho thing? Perhaps we need an actor whose characters regularly deal on a cash basis to run for office, e.g. Gandolfino (Tony Soprano), Pesce, De Niro, Liotta etc. It raises the question: which is more dangerous - the introduction of free speech rights into imaginary worlds, e.g. virtual ones, or the converse, i.e. the intrusion of characters from those imaginary worlds, e.g. films, into public forums in the real world? Do the advocates of the "magic circle" and the "fourth wall" contemplate that they only provide one-way protection? The "fourth wall" is routinely breached so maybe we should not worry about it either way. Wikkipedia has an article on the topic.
